Silver Mirror
The film structure of the silver mirror consists of a plating layer and a coating layer (a reflective layer and a protective layer). The plating layer consists of a silver layer and a copper layer, and the coating layer consists of one or more paint layers. One layer of paint is used as a top coat, and two layers of paint are primer and top coat. Silver mirrors can provide higher reflection clarity and service life than aluminum mirrors.
Product Process Characteristics
The basic principle of silver mirror production is the silver mirror reaction. Plating a layer of silver on glass through the silver mirror reaction is chemical plating. Chemical plating refers to a surface processing method that uses a reducing agent in a solution to reduce metal ions to metal and deposit them on the surface of the substrate without the action of an external current to form a metal coating.
Metallic silver is deposited on the glass surface to form a reflective layer. The silver mirror is required to have a good reflective effect, that is, a high reflectivity, and at the same time, it is required to have a strong corrosion resistance, that is, a long service life. To achieve these two requirements, the quality of the coating is the key. The three most basic requirements for the coating are as follows.
1. The coating should have a dense structure. A dense and non-porous coating can make the silver surface have a higher reflectivity. If the particles of the metallic silver crystals are large, the silver layer will not form a mirror reflection, but a diffuse reflection.
2. The coating thickness should be uniform. A uniform coating thickness can effectively ensure the service life of the silver mirror.
3. The bonding between the coating and the glass substrate must be strong. The coating is not allowed to bulge or crack.
Feature
1.Pure imaging and high reflectivity
2.Good color reproduction, bright and natural mirror imaging
3.Durable even in wet environments
Instructions for use
1. When cutting, be careful to prevent glass chips from scratching the mirror or paint surface.
2. When grinding edges, water cooling must be applied. It is best to use fresh water and add coolant and polishing powder. The pH value of the cooling water should be controlled at 7-8. The water must be sprayed on the friction surface of the grinding wheel and the silver mirror to achieve a good cooling effect.
3. The grinding speed should not be too fast to reduce heat generation. The grinding speed should be lower than 2.5m/min.
4. The alkaline water used for edge grinding will corrode the back paint of the silver mirror. Therefore, be sure to clean it with clean water and dry it in time after edge grinding.
5. When carrying it manually, workers are requested to wear clean and dry cotton gloves, because human sweat is alkaline and will corrode the silver mirror coating.
Applications
Silver mirrors are widely used in home decorations, crafts and car rearview mirrors because of their high reflectivity and optical quality, as well as durability and corrosion resistance.
