Product Process Characteristics
After etching, the surface properties of the acid etched glass depend on the properties of the salts generated by the reaction of hydrofluoric acid with the glass, the solubility, the size of the crystals, and whether they are easy to remove from the glass surface.
Due to the differences in the chemical composition of glass, not all flat glass is suitable for pickling and etching. If the generated salts have low solubility and remain on the glass surface in a crystalline state and are difficult to remove, they will cover the glass surface and hinder the contact and reaction between the hydrofluoric acid solution and the wave flow. Acid etched glass surface will be eroded unevenly, resulting in a rough and matte surface. The size of the crystal has a certain influence on the glossiness of the glass. Large crystals will cause light diffusion and a matte surface.
